Four areas of consideration:
• Privacy:
o Secondary Use of Data
o Granulated Access to Information
o Misinformation – information that is not valid; individuals should have the opportunity to challenge, change misinformation

• Data Accuracy
o Data might be noisy, obsolete, inaccurate or incomplete

o Businesses base decisions on results of mining operations – discretization, mining decisions can affect outcomes

• Database Security
o Must keep confidential, personal information secure on network, server
o Security applies to printouts, use of data

• Consent
o Generating new data makes consent difficult
o Individuals must give informed consent for all potential uses of data
